Amanda Serrano has apologised to Katie Taylor for her comments after the two went to battle on Friday night.
After the fight, Serrano accused Taylor of intentionally headbutting her after the Irish star won the controversial bout 95-94.
Taylor was deducted a point in the eighth round after being warned about going in with her head.
In the immediate aftermath of the fight, Serrano said: “I knew it if went to the judges it was going to be a little shady.
“I chose to be great. I went up three divisions. It is what it is. I’m a featherweight, man.
“She kept headbutting me. It’s what she does. It’s not just my fight, it’s all her fights. It’s what she does.”
Now, Serrano has seemingly calmed down and retracted her comments.
Taking to X, Serrano wrote: "Congratulations to @KatieTaylor in her decision win. Tempers are flared when you’re in the heat of battle & you say things you shouldn’t say.
"I’m not one to ever disrespect an opponent & these were never my intentions to Katie. She & I are cool outside the ring and the best dance partners in the ring. In no way should I ever had said she did it purposely, it’s her style that makes for them.
"I’m Not perfect and tho I try my hardest to be the nicest person I can be I’m human & being emotionally hurt can sometimes misguide you in what you say."
She added: "I’m ok, I’m heathy a bit bruised and cut but still blessed beyond belief. We both came out with our health intact & that’s what I prayed for.
"Whenever our teams can agree on a Trilogy I’ll be ready. I hope you guys all enjoyed women’s boxing at its highest level."
In a follow-up tweet, Serrano added: "Thank you for the opportunity @netflix! Also to my Team MVP @MostVpromotions & Ofcourse my Dance partner @KatieTaylor.
"It’s just a bit unfortunate for Katie & I. For me I didn’t get the Decision & for Katie, many felt she didn’t deserve the Win. Not what either of us were looking for. Other than that I hope the fans enjoyed watching two of the very best to ever do it pour it out for their Entertainment."
