A former kick boxer, Cameron found that her hands were more deadly than her feet, so she threw up on the big gloves and got to work in the pugilist profession.
The 32-year-old's most rewarding win came against the undisputed welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill which saw Cameron earn all of the belts at 140 pounds.
However, the win that should worry most Taylor fans is her emphatic victory over Melissa Hernandez, the veteran world champion who most thought would be too much for the Briton.
Not only did Cameron beat Hernandez, she stopped her in just five rounds - a truly devastating display against all of the odds that catapulted her into the elite level of women's boxing.
This Saturday sets a familiar stage as Cameron has the odds racked up against her once more when she enters the 3Arena to try and defeat the seemingly unshakeable Irish woman.
The public cant see anything outside of a Taylor win, but the opponent will not be surprised if she pulls off the unthinkable.
Cameron is fiercely fit, and has two hands made of stone, she has made it no secret that she is looking to stop the Bray brawler this Saturday, and she certainly possess the power to do it.
Taylor has always proven to be too durable in her professional bouts, but against Amanda Serrano, there were worrying stages where she looked like she could be out on her feet.
Women's boxing is only two minute rounds and Taylor is fast, and loves to be busy for every second of those rounds, so that will give her the advantage if it was to go to the scoreboards.
With the fighting being in Dublin, Cameron is conscience of the judges favouring the home fighter, so we're going to see her really come at this with serious intent, purpose, and a locked in focus to knock Taylor out.
