Floyd Mayweather reveals he intends to retire on an underwhelming note

Floyd Mayweather announced that he plans bow out of boxing unbeaten as 'The Best Ever', after he defends his welterweight belt against Andre Berto in Las Vegas next week.

If Mayweather wins, as everyone and their mother expects him to do, he would improve his record to 49-0, equaling heavyweight legend Rocky Marciano. However, he admitted he has absolutely no intention of coming out of retirement to fight for a 50th time.

"Forty-nine is my last fight, My health is more important. Anything can happen (in boxing). I am not really worried about losing. You can make a lot of money but you still won't be able to talk, walk and have a sharp mind."

"Of course, it's always about self-preservation. I come first but I appreciate the fans. I do. The only thing I can do is believe in myself. I'm going to be TBE (The Best Ever) until the day I die."
