Tyson Fury has reportedly failed a second drugs test

Tyson Fury has failed a second drugs test, according to ESPN.

The WBO and WBA world heavyweight champion was found with traces of benzoylecgonine in his system, which is the central compound in cocaine, in a random urine sample collected on September 22. The following day Fury's team announced the troubled boxer was pulling out of his rescheduled rematch against Wladimir Klitschko which had been slated for October 29. But now it has emerged that another sample taken by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) earlier on September 21 also tested positive for the Class A drug. ESPN say that Fury was only notified on Wednesday that the 'A' sample from this first test also tested positive for benzoylecgonine A letter was sent to Fury, Klitschko and parties associated with the rematch by VADA President Dr. Margaret Goodman confirming the test results. "This letter is to advise you that the 'A' sample urine specimen number 4006217 collected from Tyson Fury on September 21, 2016, through his participation in the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) program has been analyzed for anabolic agents, diuretics, beta-2 agonists, stimulants and drugs of abuse. "The results of the analyses are as follows: Adverse. Urine specimen contains benzoylecgonine." ESPN report the reason the results of the first test have only just come to light are down to variations in shipping times for the samples to be sent from England to the UCLA Lab in Los Angeles where they were tested. This latest news came after Fury opened up in a frank interview with Rolling Stone magazine about drug use, depression and suicide. https://twitter.com/Brendan_Tobin/status/783475116709732353 It's unclear though whether Fury will be stripped of his heavyweight titles because of the drug use, as cocaine is only deemed to be a performance-enhancing drug in competition. The WBA and WBO are awaiting full medical reports to be submitted by Fury which may determine whether he's stripped of the belts for inactivity.
