Arsenal leaked third kit reveals a throwback to a 1990s classic

Another day, another leaked kit...

Leaked kit news, as we all know by now, comes thick and fast this time of year. Whereas last week was all about Manchester United, with teasers of both their 2021/22 home and away offerings splashed across social media, it's now the turn of Arsenal (again). Having been offered a glimpse of their rumoured home shirt  for next season in the middle of last month, it now seems adidas are set to revisit a classic 1990s design for the next Gunners third shirt. Their iconic 'blue lightning' designs, produced by Nike, were one of the club's change shirts between 1995 and 1997. According to Footy Headlines - yet again, the first to publish these leaked kit details - the club will wear a similar design as their third kit for the new campaign. The shirt is expected to be predominantly navy blue with a vertical turquoise zigzag pattern running across it. Club sponsors - both main and sleeve - and adidas' three stripes will appear in white. While this is by no means confirmation of the final design, it is sure to prove popular with Arsenal fans if it does prove to be accurate. It certainly evokes memories of Dennis Bergkamp and the early years of Arsene Wenger's time in charge, as the Frenchman began to build one of the most exciting teams in the club's history.
