The preseason clash between Manchester United and Manchester City has been cancelled after heavy downpours last night left the pitch unplayable.
The game was scheduled to go down in the Birds Nest stadium in Beijing on Monday, but according to both clubs, the organisers of the International Champions Cup and the teams involved decided to call it off. This means that fans will have to wait a little longer for the highly-anticipated first meeting of Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola as managers of rival Manchester's two biggest teams.

Mourinho's scheduled press conference was called off when too many people tried to pack into the press room which became overheated. Also a plane carrying some of the United squad was forced to make an unplanned stop 160km from Beijing, due to the extreme weather conditions in the nation's capital. With no game taking place today, United will head back home to Manchester on Monday as planned, while City will jet off to Shenzhen on Tuesday for Thursday's game against Borussia Dortmund.
