EA Sports FC 25 are set to introduce a controversial game changing feature which will cause chaos in online matches.
It's that time of the year where fans are given their first preview of what the new game will look like and some of the new features that will be introduced.
Jude Bellingham was announced as this year’s cover star and the official trailer was released at the start of the week.
Before it has even hit shelves, many have complained about the game with some stating that there’s not enough changes from previous versions.
However, according to Epic Games, players will now be able to commit professional fouls for the first time.
Fouls have been in the game for a few years but this time, you'll be able to stop your opponent going through on goal - much to their annoyance.
When an opposition player is running through, there will be an option to deliberately pull them down, earning a yellow card.
On a PlayStation controller it will be possible by pressing ‘R2’ and ‘X’ or the right trigger, whilst on the Xbox controller it’s possible by pressing ‘A’.
While some fouls in the game go unpunished, these will always result in a yellow card and if committed more than once by the same player, you can expect to be sent off.
Since professional fouls are a key part of the real game, EA have tried to bring that across into the virtual world of football.
Fans have embraced the change with one taking to social media to declare: “If this is true then I love it.”
Another added: “Can’t wait to forget my players are on yellow cards and do it anyway.”
A third user said: “I’ll 100% do this anytime I’m up 1 after 80 minutes.”
Other changes include the 4-3-2-1 formation being removed as well as three positions, including the centre-forward position.
The game will be released on September 27, 2024.
