Rangers fan’s ‘£100 bet’ on Andy Halliday to break Scott Brown’s leg in the Old Firm derby

The Old Firm derby is almost upon us.

Rangers and Celtic will once again renew their age-old rivalry in a battle for bragging rights around Glasgow. With Rangers climbing back up the leagues, these pressure-cooker derbies have been few and far between. But the two clubs are set to clash in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden. With a place in the cup final at stake, fans were ramping up the tension in the run up to Sunday's game at noon. None more so than one supporter who tried to stick a £100 bet on Rangers' Andy Halliday to break one of Celtic star Scott Brown’s legs. We're almost certain that William Hill won't have taken that bet on the Celtic man to suffer an injury - and certainly not at 3/1. It was posted Rangers Facebook page The Blue Sea of Ibrox ahead of the game. Midfielder Halliday, who is a boyhood Rangers fan and former season ticket holder, will be firing on all cylinders for this huge Old Firm match. Halliday's midfield battle with Brown in the middle of the park is expected to be key to the clash. Rangers fans also painted the curbs red, white and blue outside a Celtic pub in the city.
