The Brazilian side were on their way to the Colombian city of Medellin for the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final at the time of the crash, which reportedly killed 71 of the 77 players, staff, journalists and crew on board.
Three days of mourning have been declared by the Brazilian government and thousands of the club's fans held a vigil for the crash victims on Tuesday night with many of them gathering in the city centre to walk to the stadium. A service was also held at Chapeco's cathedral.
This is a wonderful gesture from EA Sports, the creators of the game, and it is one which seems to have gone down well with its players.
