Gary Neville gives a damning verdict on ‘really bad’ Man United

Gary Neville said it's unlikely that Manchester United finish in the top four following their 1-1 draw at home to Leicester City on Saturday evening. Kelechi Iheanacho opened the scoring for the Foxes in the 63rd minute before Fred equalised three minutes later to share the spoils at Old Trafford. Neville thought the result leaves Ralf Rangnick's side with too much ground to make up as they are three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal with two extra games played.

Neville responded with "I think so" when asked if he thought Man United's faith lay outside of the Champions League places in the Premier League. The former Man United captain emphasised how poor the performance was, as Leicester registered more shots on goal than the home side. The 47-year-old suggested the rest of the season is going to be "a long two months" the 63-year-old's team continues to put on lacklustre performances. "That was really bad out there today. I thought it (international break) might work for Manchester United, give them a little break from the club, come back and just have a right go in these last nine games, Neville told Sky Sports. "This is going to be a long two months for those Manchester United players and those Manchester United fans if they are going to play like that because it was really poor out there today."

Neville highlighted the many aspects of uncertainty that currently surround the club, leaving the chemistry of the squad in disrepute. The eight-time Premier League winner described the Man United fans' dismay as having surpassed anger, describing them as "bored." Despite Neville's pessimistic view on Man United's trajectory for the rest of the season, he's still of the opinion that the players care. "I think overall there are too many things at this club at this moment in time that are uncertain. Talks around Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo, (Edinson) Cavani, the new manager, Ralf Rangnick. Is he going to be a consultant at the end of the season, is he not?" Neville added. "That was a really tough watch today. I'm not angry, I don't think any Manchester United fans left the ground angry tonight, because we've gone probably past anger. We're just flat, we're bored. "And there was nothing there today.
