Ilkay Gundogan, a summer arrival for Manchester City, has been speaking about Schweinsteiger's situation to Sport Bild over in Germany. He reckons that his former international teammate could still be of some use to United if fully fit (quite a big 'if' at this moment in time, Ilkay). He commented:
"I believe that Manchester United could 100 per cent benefit from a fit Bastian Schweinsteiger," Gundogan explained, before suggesting that the 32-year-old has been disrespected by United. "If everything you hear and read is true, you can consider it disrespectful. He's not just some player, and also not only 18 or 19."Schweinsteiger struggled with a knee injury towards the end of last season, but managed to make his final appearances for his national team at Euro 2016. Gundogan, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund, is also no stranger to knee trouble having only recently recovered from a dislocated patella.
