First, Mourinho found out all about what the United fans made of his decision to replace two-goal hero Marcus Rashford with Marouane Fellaini.
That didn't bother Mourinho but what did was the reaction young midfielder Scott McTominay received for slowing the game down.
With United breaking, McTominay decided to calm proceedings down by passing backwards and that decision was met with a chorus of jeers.
It was a wise decision from the 21-year-old who had an incredible game and one which was likely encouraged by Mourinho as he aimed to kill the game off in possession.
"I’m not upset with the fans about Rashford," Mourinho said after the match.
"I’m upset with the fans against McTominay.
"The kid made all the right decisions and they wanted him to make all the wrong decisions."
