New Manchester United defender Leny Yoro will face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, it has been confirmed.
Signed this summer for £52m, he will now face a lengthy layoff.
Injured during the 2-1 loss against Arsenal on Saturday at the Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, the French centre-back has since been filmed on crutches and wearing a protective boot on his left foot.
Having impressed on his debut, it was only Yoro's second game for United, however he unfortunately went to ground in the 34th minute and required treatment on the pitch before having to come off.
It will be seen as a considerable blow for Erik ten Hag, as Yoro was a statement signing at the heart of defence for the Red Devils.
Now, it has been confirmed that the time Yoro will face on the sidelines is three months.
The Red Devils endured a horrific 66 injuries last season, and the boss noted that a repeat could in fact occur this term due to such a heavy workload on the players.
Star striker Rasmus Hojlund was also injured during pre-season after pulling his hamstring.
Scoring initially against Arsenal, he subsequently went off in the 16th minute and will miss the start of the season.
It has been confirmed that he should be back in six weeks.
