He made 22 appearances for the club across two seasons, and had a loan spell with Leeds United.
Miller then signed for Roy Keane's Sunderland in 2006, and was part of the Black Cats team which won the Championship in 2007.
Miller later had spells with Queens Park Rangers, Hibernian, Perth Glory and Cork City, before retiring in 2016. He won 21 caps for Ireland.
Many of his former teammates paid tribute to him when news of his tragic passing broke.
