According to The Mirror, both managers are interest in signing Celtic's Kieran Tierney to solve their issues at left-back.
The Celtic defender has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a few months. Tierney impressed under Brendan Rodgers last season, as the Scottish champions went the season unbeaten and won a domestic treble.
The 20-year-old's form has earned him four Scotland caps and caught the attention of clubs in the Premier League.
Liverpool could move for Tierney instead of fellow Scottish left-back Andrew Robertson. The 23-year-old who was part of Hull City's team that were relegated from the Premier League last season.
According to The Independent, Tierney would cost €17m, a fee United and Liverpool could both easily afford.
