The midlands club are believed to want a fee in excess of this to let the young Irishman leave, however, Brentford apparently value Collins at around £20 million.
Brentford enjoyed a tremendous season in the league last year, finishing in a record high position of ninth and just two points off the European places in seventh.
Now, manager Thomas Frank has set his sights on adding Premier League proven players to gain the necessary depth required to push on and claim one of those seven coveted European spots.
Whilst having not featured regularly under Lopetegui, Collins is highly thought of at Molineux and the club would be reluctant to part ways with the Kildare man.
Although, with Brentford on the brink of receiving a possible club-record fee for goalkeeper David Raya from Tottenham, the London club are thought to have the funds necessary to test Wolves' resolve.
Collins is currently away in Greece on international duty with Stephen Kenny's Ireland side, with the Boys in Green set to take on Gus Poyet's side in the European Championship qualifiers on Friday, before a home fixture against minnows Gibraltar on Monday.
