Nemanja Matic 'could face ban' for covering up an LGBTQ+ badge.
The ex-Chelsea and Manchester United player who is currently at Olympique Lyonnais, could face a substantial ban after covering an anti-homophobia message on his kit with tape.
French clubs wore rainbow-coloured logos on their right sleeve on Saturday, May 17, in order to commemorate International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
However, the two-time Premier League winner didn't participate, and even covered the symbol on his jersey.
The Serbia international came on as a second-half substitute in Lyon's 2-0 win over Angers this weekend.
Fans of the sport were quick to notice the player's cover up, and additionally, the 36-year-old didn't hold back when it came to highlighting his protest.
He posted several pictures from the game on social media, showing the cover up.
Matic isn't the first to display against the cause, last season Monaco’s Mohamed Camara receiving a four-match ban for his cover up.
We'll have to wait and see any consequences Matic may face!
