"This Manchester United team are a waste of space."

Gary Neville was heavily critical of Manchester United during their first-half performance against Liverpool at Anfield. The Red Devils went into half-time of the Premier League match on Tuesday night trailing 2-0 to Jurgen Klopp's side. Neville said that United are 'waste of space' and was damning of their display in the one-sided encounter.

"This Man United team are a waste of space," Neville said on commentary for Sky Sports as Liverpool dominated the game at Anfield. Klopp's team took an early lead through Luis Diaz and scored again after 22 minutes when Mohamed Salah found the net. On both occasions, the away side couldn't get anywhere near their brilliant opponents. Man United failed to have a shot on target in the first half, as Liverpool put in one of their best performances of the season.

"However, the football Liverpool have delivered here is absolutely sublime. The quality," Neville said. "That pass from Mane, that touch from Salah, that finish are world-class. And it's why Liverpool go into the last 10 or 11 games of the season in an unbelievable position to sweep up." The former United defender also said that the performance of his old team was 'alarming.'
