Nikica Jelavic moves to China – and another former Premier League striker could be next

West Ham striker Nikica Jelavic is the latest Premier League footballer to move to China, with Beijing Ren He completing a £4m deal. The striker joins Ramires and Paulinho in the Asian country, where former Chelsea striker Demba Ba is also plying his trade. And another former Premier League hotshot could become the next Far East export, with Obafemi Martins close to joining Ba at Shanghai Shenhua. Martins, who spent last season with MLS franchise Seattle Sounders, is awaiting a visa before he can complete a move to the club, according to Daily Post Nigeria. The Nigeria international, who played in England for Newcastle United and Birmingham City, was one of the top scorers in Major League Soccer last season. Seattle have a ready-made replacement for the veteran, with American prodigy Jordan Morris agreeing professional terms for the club.
