An official statement from Newcastle, released on Wednesday afternoon, confirmed his departure but did not state whether it was linked to the investigation.
'Newcastle can confirm that Peter Beardsley is no longer employed by the club,' the statement read. 'We are grateful for the contribution Peter has given over the years as a player, coach and ambassador and we wish him well for the future. 'The club will make no further comment at this time.'The allegations made against Beardsley were not the first time he had been accused of bullying.
