Samir Nasri makes a laughable claim about how important he will be to Pep Guardiola

The France international was expected to be among a number of players who would have been moving on this summer, as the Bayern Munich coach looks to stamp his authority on the squad at the Etihad. However, after an impressive display against West Brom on Saturday night, Nasri believes that if Guardiola gets rid of him, he will be making a big mistake. The France international feels praise the playmaker received from Guardiola during his time at Arsenal five years ago, means that that Spaniard must still fancy him. Nasri, who scored in the 2-1 win over West Brom, feels Guardiola should be down on his knees thanking him for the good fortune of stumbling across a squad that includes the 28 year old.

“When the pre-season is going to start I am going to be fresh so I hope that will help me and I will try to perform because when you have been out for so long you are more hungry when you come back. "You don’t want to waste your time. You want to be back with a bang. If I stay working with Pep Guardiola, if he wants me, he’s just going to be a lucky man because I will be really hungry. “I am the type of player for his philosophy and the way he likes his team to play so we are just going to see and on the first day of pre-season I will have a chat with him because I am going to be really hungry.”

Nasri has suffered a personal injury nightmare over the last six months, but we feel he may need to do a little bit more than show hunger to convince the ex-Barcelona manager of his worth and avoid the chop.
