Speaking at his official unveiling yesterday, Clarke said that while nothing is set in stone, the soon-to-be LA Galaxy star may be brought in to inspire his troops.
"Paul (McGinley) obviously got a lot of help and advice from a lot of different people who have been in that position of managing people and looking after people, and I will be the same.
"There are a few people that I am thinking about. We'll see. He (Gerrard) is a real legend. If I were to do something like that, he would be someone I would consider."
Joking aside, it would make sense for obvious reasons. Clarke is famously a Liverpool fan, and Gerrard's career hasn't exactly floundered, winning two FA Cups, three League Cups, a Uefa Cup, a PFA Players' Player of the Year, a FWA Player of the Year, third place in the Ballon d'Or in 2005, and inspiring his side to the greatest Champions League Final comeback of all time in 2005.
The timing could have been a bit better though.
