Turkey lost their opening Group D game of the Euros against Croatia on Sunday, courtesy of a 21st minute strike by miniature maestro Luka Modrić. Everyone was so enchanted by the stunning quality of the Croat's beautiful blast that they didn't immediately notice Tufan's defending.
But Turkish fans and media certainly did, as replays showed the youngster casually stroking his immaculate mane whilst jogging out of defence, rather than rushing to block or (even contest) Modric as he sized up his wondrous volley.
It was a strike that decided the game, and Tufan is (perhaps harshly) being blamed for his nation's failure. It's true what they say: parting is such sweet sorrow.
