Referees
Another bad weekend for the men in black.
Brian Gavin lost the run of the game in Tullamore on Saturday night and it threatened to boil over more than once.
We're all for letting hurling flow, but there's no accounting for pure filth and having players put at risk of injury.
The Derry-Down game was marked by some strange decisions as well with Conaill McGovern seeing red for a soft push on Enda Lynn. There would be more aggression in a pillow fight between Joe Brolly and Marty Morrissey.
Barry Kelly also had his typical infuriating display with Cork and Waterford on the end of some strange calls. Expect the Rebels to appeal Luke O'Farrell's red card

Maybe every team will now have their manager resign two weeks before championship, organise a Facebook campaign to get him back, and then see him return in style guiding his team to a record win over their neighbours.
0-29 to 0-21 and Laois end 43 years of hurt.
Offaly hurling seemed to be on the up.
It's back to square one.
Laois now have Galway in their sights.

Jim McGuinness made his debut for SKY on Saturday night and though he didn't reveal too much, it was still refreshing to hear a new voice.
Hopefully with a few more games under his belt he'll open up a little bit more.
He does look good in a suit mind.

At least he was a change to the gibberish being spouted by Pat Spillane on the Sunday game who at half time in the Down-Derry game came out with this gem
https://twitter.com/ConanDoherty/status/607605052245737473Why Jim McGuinness’ bizarre excuse doesn’t add-up for Donegal’s defeat to Dublin
The GAA schedule… Donegal manager, Jim McGuinness, revealed one of the reasons his side was shocked by Ger Brennan’s Dublin. McGuinness’ men have been knocked out of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship after defeats to Cork and Dublin. These results come after a statement victory for Donegal against Kerry in Killarney, where they ran out […]
