Bad news on the weather front as thunderstorms set to wreak havoc on Saturday’s round at Augusta

Golf tournaments are always at the mercy of Mother Nature – and The Masters is no exception. After two days of reasonably benign conditions on Thursday and Friday, the weather forecast isn't looking good for 'moving day' at Augusta. Heavy showers are expected on Saturday afternoon in Georgia, just as the leaders are getting their third rounds underway, with thunderstorms also forecast later in the day. That's bad news for viewers, as thunderstorms will most likely result in a few delays. The wind will pick up, too, with gusts of up to 20mph making things even tougher for those chasing leader Patrick Reed. Swirling winds complicated matters for many of the game's best on Friday, with the 74.563 scoring average almost a full stroke higher than the opening day. There's nothing quite like Saturday and Sunday shootouts at Augusta. They make for compelling television as the roars cascade across the iconic course's tree-lined fairways.
