Rory McIlroy cruised to a three-shot victory in the Dubai Desert Classic today to begin his 2015 with a bang.

The world No.1, who began the day with a four-shot advantage, fired three birdies alongside a single bogey (just his second dropped shot of the week), to shoot a composed round of 70 and finish 22 under par, tying the record winning score at the event. The victory extended McIlroy's advantage at the head of the world rankings and continued a staggering run of form that dates back to his Open Championship victory last summer.
