Shane Lowry had the honour of hitting the first ever tee shot in TGL history last night.
And despite describing the wait as 'nerve wracking', he striped his drive down the middle of the fairway, putting his team on course for a big win.
Playing with The Bay team, alongside Ludvig Aberg and Wyndham Clark, Lowry and Co hammered New York Golf Club (Xander Schauffle, Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler) 9-2.
The new golf league - founded by Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods - sees players hitting into a giant indoor screen with different terrain depending on their lie. When they are within chipping distance they move to a real green, which can be moved around with a range of different hole locations.
The opening nine holes sees the players compete in a 3v3 alternate shot format, while holes 10-15 are singles matches, with each player playing two of the six holes.

After a dominant Bay team went 9-1 up, Lowry - who also dropped an F-bomb at one point - quipped: "I knew, I told yah. I'm going to be the Scottie Scheffler of indoor golf."
Lowry's prediction could come true with world No 1 Scheffler not part of TGL.
After the match Lowry added: "It's quite an intimidating place to play golf because it's somewhere we're not used to."
On the 40-second shot clock, which carries a one-stroke penalty if violated, Fitzpatrick said: "I didn't feel rushed. I wish that was in real golf as well."
