This morning at The Open Championship, at Royal Birkdale, a talented American amateur with an even more remarkable name teed off.
Walker Cup star Maverick McNealy let rip just before 7am as one of the early starters. The 21-year-old from California has already appeared in the U.S Open on two occasions but this is his first time to compete in golf's oldest championship.
Having tied an 18-hole Stanford [university] record - set by one Tiger Woods - by shooting 61, just a couple of years back, McNealy is certainly one to watch.
His first hole did not go so well as he found the deep rough and eventually carded a triple bogey 7.
