AP McCoy has disappointing news for race fans after today’s winning return to the saddle

It was like he was never away.

AP McCoy made brilliant winning return to racing this afternoon, as he claimed a thrilling win in the Gannicus in the Clipper Logistics Leger Legends Classified Stakes at Doncaster. The Antrim native was the star attraction on his first professional ride since he retired from jumps racing back in April. The race was all in aid of the Northern Racing College, and the Injured Jockeys Fund's, and the Irishman produced as superb ride to take the win. https://twitter.com/AtTheRaces/status/641625058272645120 McCoy was breathless afterwards and told SportingLife.com that the race was definitely a one of,

"I looked like a retired jockey and felt like a retired jockey! When I retired that was the end but when I saw Jack in Malton I couldn't really say no. "Days like this make me realise how lucky I was doing it for 20 years, I've really missed it but it's over now, that's it." "I'm not sure what I'll do now. I've been playing golf for five months with all the best gear like the rest, but I'm useless so it makes me think all my success was down to the horses."
