Teenage jockey Jack Kennedy is a name to remember

Jack Kennedy, remember the name.

The 16-year-old Dingle jockey recorded a treble at Navan yesterday, with the pick of the three coming in the Troytown Chase. It was a first win over fences for Kennedy, who led Gordon Elliott's Riverside City home ahead of his stablemate Georges Conn in the prestigious handicap. Kennedy also won aboard Baroque Style and Prince of Scars to record a 147-1 treble at the Meath track. "It's my first winner over fences and to get it in such a big handicap is lovely," said the Kerry teenager after his win in the Troytown. "I think that was my fifth or sixth ride over fences and I'm very grateful to Gordon and Mr (JP) McManus (owner) for giving me the opportunity. "I thought he'd go well with such a light weight and he'd come on for the run in Cork the last day. "That's six winners for the week, I'm delighted. I couldn't be asking for anything better." Trainer Elliott said of his young protege: "Jack is a very good rider. He's very cool and nothing panics him." It's not just his boss who is impressed with Kennedy however.
