Togoville makes history with tenth victory on all-weather track in Dundalk

A milestone just over four years in the making.

Togoville, owned by Patrick McCann, made a little bit of history on Friday night when he became the first horse in history to win ten races on the all-weather track at Dundalk. With AJ Slattery on board at scarcely-believable odds of 33/1, the nine-year old was first past the post in the Coral Best Price Guaranteed Handicap, to the delight of McCann and trainer Anthony McCann. Togoville’s winning streak at Dundalk stretches back to December 2014, when he was trained by Georgios Pakidis. He won a further six races under the Greek trainer before Anthony McCann took over in late 2017, with McCann guiding the gelding to three further wins at the Louth track. Togoville had been chasing a 10th win at Dundalk for the best part of the last year, having last won at the track with PJ Smullen on board on the day before St.Patrick's Day last year. This particular race was always likely to offer a good opportunity to complete the milestone as Togoville finished second in the same race last year and won it in 2017, when DP McDonogh guided him to victory.
