Aisling Daly out of September bout against Michelle Waterson

Aisling Daly will no longer be competing at UFC Fight Night 93 in Hamburg.

The SBG strawweight was slated to go up against 11th-ranked Michelle Waterson on September 3 but injury has forced 'Ais the Bash' out of the contest, as broken by MMA Junkie. Daly has yet to fight in 2016, with her last bout coming in October of last year when she defeated Ericka Almeida via unanimous decision in Dublin. The UFC are understood to be seeking a fighter willing to replace Daly and oppose Waterson, whose absence from the Octagon stretches further back than Daly's as 'The Karate Hottie' has not competed since July 2015. Waterson has only fought once under the UFC banner as a series of injuries have stalled her progress through the division that is currently ruled by champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The injury to Daly was not disclosed but we can only wish the Dubliner a speedy recovery and a healthy return to action.
