Dana White claims McGregor v Aldo is set for December 12 in Las Vegas

Let's all pray that Jose Aldo spars intelligently.

It's looking like the featherweight title unification bout between the Brazilian and interim champion Conor McGregor is slated for December 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Esteemed MMA reporter Kevin Iole quotes UFC president Dana White as having said that officials at the venue "moved Heaven and Earth" to get the grudge match to take place in the fight capital of the world rather than in Dallas as was initially reported. Original reports had suggested that the UFC was to have McGregror v Aldo headline a super card at the 100,000 seater AT&T Stadium on December 5 because singer Andrea Bocelli was booked at the MGM that night. But it broke tonight that Dana White has claimed that the realisation of McGregor v Aldo will take place a week later in Vegas and, contrary to repeated reports, the promotion is not targeting a women's bantamweight title bout between Ronda Rousey v Cyborg for the event.

"The deal with Cyborg is, we told her to make 135 and then we would talk about a fight with Ronda," White said. "And they haven't done that. They're still talking about fighting at 140 [in Cyborg's next fight in Invicta]. What is wrong with these people? But we already said that Ronda was fighting Miesha Tate next and that's what we're going to do.

"That fight isn't going to be on the [Aldo v McGregor] card, for sure. If we were going to go to Dallas Cowboys Stadium, that's another story, but the MGM really wanted the fight and they made a huge effort for it and they got it. And it works out better for us to be in Las Vegas."
