Brock Lesnar reveals to CM Punk the most difficult thing about switching to MMA

Brock Lesnar has been imparting his wisdom on CM Punk after Punk's decision to sign for the UFC.

Phil ‘CM Punk’ Brooks has been slowly but surely building up hype for his inevitable UFC debut. At a media event before UFC 185 in Dallas he spoke about his relationship with former WWE/UFC star Brock Lesnar, and the advice he gave him about changing from one three-letter acronyms to another.

I’ve talked to him once, he lives in the middle of nowhere where there’s no cell service, he’s in the middle of like, Saskatchewan, I don’t even know.

Punk asked the ginormous athlete if he found anything particularly difficult about making the change to MMA from wrestling. It turns out that Lesnar had the exact same struggles when he first tried his hand at MMA that Punk is having now.

I asked him what the hardest thing for him to do was, because obviously he’s a freak athlete but something had to be difficult, and I find it’s the exact same thing I’m having difficulty with, which is learning to let go. Striking or sparring is completely different, somebody’s trying to punch me in the face and I’m trying to punch someone in the face, but often I’ll find I’m too light on guys if I’m (working on his ground game.) My hips aren’t heavy enough. It’s like the old pro-wrestling kicking in, and he had the same problem.

Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently 280 lb plus freakshow Lesnar was also "too light" to be effective on the ground. You can't pull the wool over our eyes, Punk. Lesnar's contract with the wrestling promotion is quickly nearing it's end. This has left many speculating that the former UFC heavyweight champion might return to the world's largest MMA promotion. Punk explained that he doesn't know what Lesnar's plans were but admitted he was hopeful that he would join him in the UFC.

I’d love to see Brock back. I think it’d be good for Brock and it would just be fun to have him around.
