So depressed was the man, who was already a huge fan of McGregor, that he decided to take his own life but had a moment of clarity as he tried to take an overdose of painkillers.
The letter finishes by the McGregor supporter revealing that, because of The Notorious, he's turned his whole life around by undergoing treatment for his drug addiction and is currently working with elderly people, providing palliative care. His dad is still in remission, two years on, and experiencing no pain.
