Conor McGregor issues perhaps the most heartfelt tribute of all to the retired Cathal Pendred

Conor McGregor isn't often one for humility or complimenting others but that definitely changes when teammates are the topic of conversation. McGregor's SBG teammate, Cathal Pendred, announced his retirement from mixed martial arts on Wednesday. And while they're an ocean apart, with McGregor in Las Vegas preparing for UFC 194, The Notorious paid an absolutely blinding tribute to his compatriot as Pendred hangs up his gloves for the last time. McGregor posted his well-wishes and thanks on Facebook late Wednesday night and it makes for touching reading to see a more honest, caring side of the UFC interim featherweight champion emerge to honour one of his training partners alongside whom he had climbed up the MMA ladder.
