Conor McGregor: Jose Aldo’s coach can come hold pads for me

It will come as a massive shock to you that Conor McGregor had something to say about the fact that Jose Aldo's head coach is retiring.

It was announced last week that Andre Pederneiras, head coach of Nova Uniao fighters such as Aldo and Renan Barao, will step away from the spotlight and allow someone else to become the lead trainer at the gym. And, of course, The Notorious had his own take on the announcement.

"Maybe it's announced that [Aldo is] gone as well, because his coach is gone. How's his coach gonna say he's gonna retire when his fighter has the biggest fight of his life coming up? C'mon, what is that? They're done with the game."

In fact, Pederneiras will be in Aldo's corner come the July 11 meeting with McGregor and hasn't yet given a date for his retirement but Conor has offered a novel proposition to the legendary Brazilian coach when he does finally call it a day.

"Maybe Andre can come over here and chill out with me and hold pads for me. We can do a little bit together maybe. If he wants a job, he can have a job here."
