Conor McGregor forgiven by Ray Borg for nasty injury that cost him huge fight

Ray Borg was one of the main victims of that bus attack involving Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor did a lot of damage when he threw that dolly through the bus window. Khabib Nurmagomedov may have been the intended target of the attack, but much like his professional record, the Dagestani came through the incident without as much as a blemish. He was able to headline the card and comprehensively beat Al Iaquinta to become undisputed UFC lightweight king. She admitted recently that she's still 'paranoid' and tries not to leave her house since it happened. Two fighters were removed from the card because of injuries they sustained in the attack. Michael Chiesa was forced to withdraw from his scheduled main card bout against former 155 lb king Anthony Pettis after suffering lacerations to the face due to the shattered glass. Borg had to pull out of his scheduled flyweight scrap against Brandon Moreno after the shattered glass caused him multiple corneal abrasions. Two-and-a-half months later, 'The Tazmexican Devil' is ready to forgive 'The Notorious' over the incident.

"I don't hate the dude."

Borg is only 24 years old. However, what he went through recently would make anyone grow up quickly. His fight with Moreno was rescheduled for UFC Chile, but he had to pull out to care for his newborn son. Anthony Borg developed hydrocephalus, a fluid build-up in the brain. He had to undergo two surgeries to treat the condition.

As Borg told MMA Fighting, it was this experience coupled with seeing McGregor with his son Conor Jr. that helped him overcome the animosity.

“After having a kid and watching him go through what he had to go through, I learned that there’s not a whole lot of room for hate. Everything that happened with me and Conor, I don’t hate the dude no more. I have a certain feeling toward people who have healthy kids. I value that, so it actually makes me really happy that Conor has his boy and shows him off on social media. What we went through, I wouldn’t wish it on anybody, so it’s nice to see people enjoy their kids.”

Thankfully, Anthony is healthy and doing well. Ray is now focused on returning to the Octagon before the end of the year.
