Conor McGregor’s response to being called a celebrity is bloody perfect

Conor McGregor dropping $27,000 in Dolce & Gabana and waiting around the corner in a coffee shop while they loaded up the bags.

It's not a bad way for an interview to begin. 'The Notorious' is the cover star of GQ magazine's Spring edition and his feature interview covers a myriad of topids - the Kardashians, protests against US President Donald Trump and the mooted boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Reporter Scott Cohen spent a day in Los Angeles with McGregor, late last year, and found him to be in loquacious form... even when he was threatening to throw him from a speeding car onto the motorway. One of the most interesting aspects of the 3,000-word piece is McGregor's response to being asked about being called, and treated like, a celebrity. He remarked:

"People think I'm a celebrity. I'm not a celebrity. I break people's faces for money and bounce."

For a man that is often accused of having a gigantic ego, it is a remarkably grounded and humble response. McGregor also speaks about how hosts of young men in Ireland are now dressing up, and getting groomed, to be like him.
