Dana White doesn’t sound entirely confident heading into meeting with Conor McGregor

First things, first.

Conor McGregor made an appearance in front of the Brooklyn Criminal Court, today, following his part in an incident involving a bus carrying UFC fighters and employees at the Barclays Center back in early April. McGregor and Straight Blast Gym teammate Cian Cowley appeared in front of a judge, leading on from the charges that were set down to both men the day after the bus was attacked. McGregor and SBG teammate Cian Cowley’s legal team informed the court that they plan to negotiate a plea with the District Attorney. Both men will appear back in the same court on July 26 and will make an actual plea before the court. McGregor is then set to hang around in the United States and meet with UFC president Dana White. White was supposed to meet 'The Notorious' at UFC Liverpool, last month, but that get together was nixed. Speaking to reporters, last Friday, ahead of UFC 225, White claimed he would meet McGregor before his trial. "He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month. I don’t know whats gonna happen. I don’t know what Conor has planned. I don’t know what Conor and his team have worked on. Whatever happens [on June 14], I will be as shocked as you."

Coming from a man who stated back on June 8 that he was still targeting a fight between UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and McGregor, the latest comments from White appear to be less assured. The former feather- and lightweight champion has not fought in the UFC since he became the first fighter to hold two belts consecutively, in November 2016, after defeating Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden.
