Daniel Cormier reveals unbelievably classy gesture made by UFC ahead of press conference

With Conor McGregor pulled from the UFC 200 card, the promotion is not exactly at the most popular point in its existence.

The promotion put on its second press conference of their UFC 200 media tour on Wednesday evening with its brand new main event confirmed. The rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones will now headline the July 9 event and the two best light heavyweights in the world flanked UFC president Jon Jones at the press conference in Madison Square Garden. But Cormier almost didn't make it to the presser due to the fact that his son had a recital that same morning but the reigning 205 lb champion explained how the UFC made it so that he could attend the event. Cormier said: "When they (UFC) called me about this on Monday I told Dave Sholler, the PR guy, 'well I can't go,' and he was like 'why can't you go?' "So I said 'my son has his Spring performance at school on Wednesday' and I was like 'I can't miss it.' "Any time you deny the UFC something, the PR department or anyone else, then Dana starts to call. "So when Dana started to call, initially I was hesitant to answer because I knew what he was calling for and when I said 'well I can't miss my son's performance,' the UFC... man we work for a great company. "They actually sent a camera crew out to my kid's school and they streamed it to my phone this morning. "I got to watch my boy sing and he had a solo performance and it was good. I appreciate all that the UFC do. I got to watch it and it was great."
