Eddie Alvarez is out to “silence the country of Ireland” when Octagon door slams shut

Eddie Alvarez has previously claimed that he's proud of his Irish roots.

The fact that the UFC lightweight champion is half-Irish will do nothing to sway the green mob that is currently descending on New York City ahead of his first title defence. Alvarez will be standing opposite Conor McGregor on Saturday night and he is aware that 'The Notorious' may well have the more vocal support in Madison Square Garden, in spite of the fact that Alvarez is based on the east coast of the USA.
