Flyweight star Henry Cejudo praises UFC’s handling of the Conor McGregor situation

Henry Cejudo believes the UFC did the right thing by pulling Conor McGregor from UFC 200.

Undefeated Cejudo (10-0) is scheduled to take on Demetrious Johnson (23-2-1) for the flyweight belt at UFC 197 on Saturday, but his title shot is getting overshadowed by... well, a lot of things. In truth, the flyweight championship was always going to play second fiddle to Jon Jones' highly anticipated return to the Octagon, but now Conor McGregor, as he so often does, has taken the spotlight hostage. First the Notorious was retired, then he was pulled from UFC 200, then he was no longer retired and the latest is he will only fight Nate Diaz on July 9 if the media obligations don't interfere with his training schedule. https://twitter.com/ufc/status/722573330566361089?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw It appears the UFC are sticking to their guns and are not bending to McGregor's demands, and this news was the buzz of the UFC 197 open workouts, where Cejudo was quizzed about the situation. He told MMA Fighting that his bosses were right to remove McGregor from the landmark event.

"I think it's good for the UFC. The UFC, they need to start stepping up and doing things like that. If you think you're higher than UFC, if you think you're better than all the other fighters, then maybe you should get pulled. So, I think it's a good discipline."

  However, Cejudo does this this whole ordeal will come to an end eventually and this won't mark the end of McGregor's fighting career.
