Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis open to Conor McGregor bout

Anthony Pettis would be open to fighting Conor McGregor in the near future, were the Irishman to step up in weight class. Pettis, who lost his lightweight belt to dos Anjos earlier this year, was speaking on a FOX Sports segment called 'Ask the Analyst'. 'What's next for me is getting my belt back,' said Pettis. 'This guy that beat me last has my belt and I want that back. That's the big thing on my mind right now. Already lining up to take McGregor on are Frankie Edgar, Urijah Faber, TJ Dillashaw and featherweight champion José Aldo. One stumbling block for any potential McGregor-Pettis bout would be the American's patchy fitness record. He has not fought since his belt loss and pulled out of an encounter with Myles Jury.
