Georges St-Pierre speaks up after latest comeback stories create a tizzy

It is the news many fight fans have craved since December 2013.

Georges St-Pierre may yet be coming back to the UFC but don't expect any official announcements on it next week. Social media, online forums and MMA websites lit up, last night, following a tweet from a Quebec radio station that suggested GSP was nearing a return to the sport he stepped away from over two years ago. St-Pierre, who vacated his welterweight title and took an indefinite break from active duty, was contacted by MMA Fighting and informed them that Pou's sources 'were not reliable'. Rodolphe Beaulieu, GSP's manager, also told them, "[There are] still a lot of things that need to happen before he decides if he comes back or not." The former pound-for-pound king recently undertook a six-week training camp to ascertain whether the drive and desire was still there for a comeback. Compatriot, and fellow welterweight, Rory MacDonald suggested to fans in Dublin, last October, that St-Pierre would be coming back but targeting super-fights, not UFC titles.
