It sounds like this MMA legend believes that Conor McGregor v Chad Mendes was fixed

As many stellar shows that the UFC puts on, there are always going to be critics willing to have a pop at the promotion.

Mixed martial arts legend Wanderlei Silva took to Twitter last night to vaguely refer to the fights at UFC 189 as "fake". Silva, who went 5-7 in his time with the UFC, fell out with the promotion after receiving a lifetime ban from the Nevada State Athletic Commission following a refusal to take a drug test. That ban has since been overturned but it's done nothing to repair the relationship between the UFC and The Axe Murderer.  And with conspiracy theorists hitting the internet yesterday to espouse theories of McGregor v Mendes being fixed just due to the fact that the fight was stopped with three seconds remaining in the round, Silva was happy to jump on the bandwagon.

It's a bit rich that Silva is worried about mixed martial arts turning into professional wrestling considering the fact that he made his name in Pride, a Japanese promotion in which many fighters have claimed they were paid to throw fights back in the early 2000s. https://youtu.be/ij4e39es1mk
