John Kavanagh shares scenes of changing room elation after Conor McGregor’s KO win

A decade of graft rewarded by one knock-out punch after 13 seconds.

John Kavanagh and Conor McGregor have been on a memorable journey ever since The Notorious showed up at the coach's Straight Blast Gym, in 2008, and set a goal to be UFC champion. Last night in Las Vegas, the pair embraced in the middle of the octagon after McGregor claimed the undisputed featherweight belt. The Dubliner KO'ed Jose Aldo with a left cross and finished him off on the deck before referee 'Big' John McCarthy stepped in and ended the contest. "We did it John!" McGregor declared as coach and athlete celebrated a remarkable achievement. Still elated from his fighter's victory, Kavanagh posted this picture and note on Facebook.
