For some reason, I don’t know why, but I have a feeling Aldo was going to retire after this fight.” “The guys been fighting for a long time, he’s been the champ now for a long time, but think about it, if you were getting paid millions of dollars – I guarantee you he’s going to make millions of dollars if this fight happens and ends up retiring. I hope it still happens.”While that's just the opinion of one fighter and there's no actual proof that the featherweight kingpin was planning to call it a day, it's certainly a theory that makes sense, considering the amount of money at stake and the amount of fight miles on Aldo's clock.
