MMA legend Wanderlei Silva hit by a car while riding bike

Former UFC star Wanderlei Silva was hit by a car while riding his bike home from a training session, a statement on the Brazilian's social media platform confirms.

Having been released from his UFC contract, the 39-year-old signed with Japanese MMA organisation, Rizin Fighting Federation. He is currently suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission for three years having refused to take a drug test. Having initially been given a lifetime ban, the former PRIDE middleweight champion is poised to return to competitive action in the spring of 2017.
