SBG Ireland offering free women’s self defence classes in response to recent attacks

In this month alone, the bodies of two women and one teenage girl were found dead in Ireland.

14-year-old Anastasia Kriegel's body was found in a derelict farmhouse in Lucan, Dublin. She had been missing for three days. It is understood that she was found naked and may have been beaten to death. 30-year-old Natalia Karaczyn was discovered on the outskirts of Sligo town. Her body was found three days after she was reported missing in a wooded area. Her husband Natalia Karaczyn has been charged with the murder. This week, the body of 24-year-old Jastine Vasquez was found in Rathmichael in south Dublin. The post-mortem revealed that she died by strangulation. Gardai believe the student was abducted, bundled into a car as she was walking home from work. The suspected killer, Mark Hennessy, was shot dead by a Garda in Cherrywood Business Park on Sunday night. In the wake of 'recent horrific attacks in Dublin,' John Kavanagh has announced that SBG Ireland will be offering free women's only self-defence classes starting this Saturday. The SBG head coach made the announcement on Facebook.

"Introducing a FREE women's only BJJ Self Defence class at HQ starting this Saturday 11 am. This will be on-going and on at the same time every Saturday. Don't worry if you miss this weekend, you can start any time. Feel free to drop in and watch one if you're considering taking it up. Also, this class is free to any girls from any other clubs that want to supplement their training. In light of recent horrific attacks in Dublin by a deranged individual, we feel the need to do something to give women a fighting chance. Come down and meet Jaqueline and see if you enjoy it."
